About

Hello and Welcome! I live in Los Angeles and probably have at least one writing project going on. My writing is driven by the power build rather than the quick payoff. I have been described as "the master of the slow burn" and "the bard of insecurity." Make of that what you will.

Usually what starts me writing is a problem I can't figure out. While I am a conscientious student of craft and love to experiment with form, I believe art is not only about the container, but about what is contained.  For me to be interested in it, there needs to be something there that matters.

My work has appeared in Hippocampus Magazine and the former Delos: A Journal of World Literature. In 2013, I had the amazing opportunity to be the first writer in residence at 360 Xochi Quetzal in Chapala, Mexico. I have a Masters of Fine Arts from American University and a Masters of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University.
